I don't DO coke, lemonade, fanta, solo...or any soft drinks in general but I gotta say have been lying to myself putting Bundies ginger beer in a "premium soft drink" category in my mind therefore eliminating any need to wipe it from my usual clean eating diet. (knowing full well that it is loaded with sugar!!) I could tell post detoxs when id have a sip and my mouth nearly puckered up and died lol. You see I also kinda rationalised it, like, well I'm not drinking booze so a ginger beers OK ...isnt it??
FACT
Bundaberg Ginger Beer has 40.5g of SUGAR per 375ml bottle, THIS = 9 1/2 teaspoons sugar!!! YUK can you imagine eating nearly 10 teaspoons of sugar? EWWWW. I don't add sugar to ANYTHING so why the f*ck am I downing 10 tsp in a drink??!
So here I am outing myself as a mild ginger beer/sugar addict. I also realised its well and truly TIME to made my own "ginger beer" for those moments where I don't feel like drinking alcohol but want something fizzy and fun!
RECIPE
1 glass mineral water
1 drop doTERRA Ginger Oil
1 drop doTERRA orange oil
1 drop doTERRA lemon Oil
1 tsp Organic sugar (if you MUST) (Better than 10!)
Stir well and drink
VERDICT
If you're use to the punch and sugar rush the bundaberg ginger beer gives you, IM NOT GOING TO LIE, You'll be left a little disappointed however.... if you're open to reduce your sugar consumption, still want something fizzy and gingery, refreshing AND therapeutic give this a whirl! I LIKE it :)
Ginger- Great for digestion and circulation.
Lemon - Good for liver cleansing and immunity
